The Dreaded Flight and Train to the Hotel

The Plane
Just got into the plane sitting in seat 13A.  I have to admit this chair if really comfortable.  It is actually obscenely comfortable.   The seat has like 8 positional buttons and preset settings as well.  I have a shitload of space and they already offered me Champaign before takeoff.  I must decline as I will be taking my happy pill shortly.  Thank goodness for Xanax & and her generic sisters.  Takeoff went pretty smooth and so far everything is looking good.

Shit I see a mechanic.  I am afraid, I am very afraid!  whoo!  Close call it was just a chair that was defective.  I feel better now. 
 

The flight attendant seems nice.  He said he was in the witness protection program.  I took his picture.

They provide you with noise cancellation headphones and a little goody bag where you get everythign you will need to make your flight even better!

They start you off  a glass of Orange juice and warm Nuts.  Followed by a nice salad and roll.  I selected the Chicken tandoori plate (I also went with some wine even though I shouldn't).  I have a feeling I will be eating a lot of Indian food on this trip.  The dinner was amazing.  I know that I had my shitty little pulled pork sandwich a few hours ago, but I cannot just leave the food there to spoil.  This was all followed by a nice Ben and Jerry's cookies and cream Ice cream.  Breakfast was also pretty amazing.  A cheese omelet with potatoes and a fruit plate.  

The Train
I arrived to London and now need to make it to the hotel using public transit.  I did no research, I thought that it will be easy because I am in England and they speak English.
I bought the train ticket from Heathrow to  Burnham.  It was about 45min but very comfortable even with 2 luggage and a laptop bag. 

In the Airport

Took the supershuttle to the airport today.  I was one of only 2 passengers.  The other passenger happened to be the CFO for a online start-up called saatchi online (http://www.saatchionline.com/).  It is a sort of art resale website with user submitted content.  We had an interesting conversation about street art and the art world in general. 

After a 45 min. drive we got the to the American Airlines terminal.   After checking I proceed to the security check point where they did the body scan and ran a swab test on my carry on luggage.  I am carrying a lot of computer equipment and network cables so the scan may have looked a bit weird.

I checked my terminal to make sure that my flight was on time.

I proceeded down the terminal in search of the Business class lounge.  I could not find it.  I went to the AA customer service desk and asked about this.  They said Are you first class?  I said business class and they said "Sorry, it is only for first class"  I could not believe this.  I was going to stay out with the peasants!  Sitting on the floor and with no fucking wifi!  I could not let this happen.  So I went to Chili's and ordered myself a pulled pork sandwich.

  
After eating this I checked online what the requirements to get into the "First Class Lounge" is.  According to the website they said that if you are traveling international business class you qualify.  I immediately ran to the lounge and made my presence known.  It was heavenly.

With the entrance to this exclusive club I get free wifi and 2 drinks (Including alcohol). 

Travel

This blog is for my business trip to London England. Well to be more specific it is to Buckinghamshire. It is located southeast of London. The most interesting thing I have found out so far about this city is the flag.

I will be departing on Saturday 7/30/2011 at 7:55pm from Los Angeles. I will be riding on American Airlines flight 136. I will be sitting in Seat 13A which seems to be one of the worse seats. It is however business class.



I will be staying at the Burnham Beeches Hotel.
